Bay Area Pro Michaels Joins Bay Country

• Alpha Media’s new Bay Country simulcast — 94.5 KBAY/San Jose & 92.1 KKDV/Walnut Creek — is pleased to welcome a familiar voice to weekends — Tony Michaels, who most recently did afternoon drive on crosstown Country rival 95.3 FM KRTY/San Jose until it was sold and flipped to Contemporary Christian, has signed on to do weekend afternoons on Bay Country, starting this Saturday, July 9.

Bo Matthews, OM/PD of Alpha Media San Jose, said, “I’ve enjoyed getting to know Tony over the past couple months and we are delighted he’s joined the Bay Country family. Tony has an outstanding reputation in the Bay Area and our local listeners associate him with Country music. Having him on the team is a win for Bay Country and our listeners.”

VP/Market Manager David Drutz commented, “Bay Country is creating a fresh new Country format that’s unique to and representative of the entire Bay Area, and Tony’s history with South Bay Country listeners and fresh ideas make him a perfect addition to our station.”

Michaels remarked, “I’m excited to join the Bay Country family and contribute towards achieving our goal of being No. 1 in the Bay Area!”
