Cage & Park In Motion
• Major market vet Jason Cage is off the bench and back in the game, hired to do afternoon drive on CBS Radio Hot AC KHMX (Mix 96-5)/Houston, starting Monday, June 12. Cage (left) was most recently half of the Cage & Bex morning show at CBS Radio’s now defunct Top 40 WZMP (96.5 AMP Radio)/Philadelphia, which in January flipped to AC as WTDY (Today’s 96.5). Before moving to Philly in February 2016, Cage spent five years doing nights at CBS Radio sibling WBBM-FM (B96)/Chicago, and from 2005-1011 he did nights, imaging, etc. at Cumulus Media’s KLAL (Alice 107.7)/Little Rock, AR.
“I have been a fan of Jason’s work for years!” said Mix PD Chase Murphy. “Winning is in his DNA! We are excited to add him to the KHMX team and cannot wait for the Houston community to meet him.” Cage commented, “I’ve had obscene amounts of fun working with top-notch CBS Radio teams in Chicago and Philly over the past six years and I’m thrilled to continue the run on KHMX Houston! Chase Murphy is an evil genius mastermind and I’m honored to be part of his plot. Thank you Erik Bradley, Brad Wright, Jeff Sottolano and Sarah Frazier for putting the pieces together.” The full Mix 96-5 on-air line-up looks like this — 5:30-10am: The Morning Mix featuring Sarah Pepper, Geoff Sheen and Lauren Kelly; 10am-3pm: Chase Murphy, and 3-7pm: Jason Cage.
• CBS Radio Sports-Talk WXYT (97.1 The Ticket)/Detroit continues its recent hiring fiesta with the announcement that Heather Park will be joining the Jamie and Stoney morning show as co-host, starting Monday, June 12. She’s currently the in-house stadium host at Comerica Park for the Detroit Tigers and she hosts Michigan Golf Weekly for WWJ-TV. I look forward to the evolution of the show with the addition of Heather.” A clearly excited Park said, “I’m excited for this opportunity! Jamie and Stoney make such a great morning show team and I can’t wait to join them to bring a new female voice to mornings in Detroit.”
