The Chris Cantore Show — The Cutting Edge of Sports debuted last night, and will run weeknights from 6-9pm. Cantore is probably best known for his 11-year run in mornings on Alternative XTRA (91X). He later did mornings on the now defunct KPRi, and most recently co-hosted the Cantore + Woods morning show on Entercom Alternative KBZT (FM 94/9)/San Diego. Well, I’m beyond grateful.” Describing himself as “the antithesis of a human sports encyclopedia,” Cantore added, “I’m just a fan of all San Diego sports and teams, including action sports, and hope to bring something different to the airwaves.”

BCA VP of Programming Mike Shepard remarked, “The Mighty 1090 brand is built on the popularity and diverse talent of its strong personalities, and Chris makes a perfect addition to our evening programming. Chris is a talented entertainer who lives the San Diego sports lifestyle every day.” He added, “This is an exciting show concept that aims to push the limits of traditional sports radio and create a different audience experience.” Cantore replaces Kevin Acee, who will remain a contributor to the show in addition to his fulltime job is a columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune.
