DC’s Own Marky Marc Takes Nights At WKYS

• Marky Marc has been inked to do nights on Urban One’s 93.9 WKYS/Washington, starting Monday, May 15.

“We are thrilled that Mark is joining our team,” said Mike “Swift” Powell, PD of WKYS. “His positive energy and passion for radio are contagious and needed in today’s industry. We’re looking forward to making history with Marc as part of our D.C. family!”

DC-born and raised, Marky attended North Carolina A&T and received a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. While at A&T, Marky hosted his own radio show, which led to an internship with WJMH (102 Jamz)/Greensboro. He was later hired to do nights at Beasley’s WZFX (Foxy 99)/Fayetteville, NC. After a year of doing nights and achieving the highest numbers in the history of his daypart, Marky returned to 102 Jamz to do nights, and more recently, afternoon drive.

“This is a full-circle moment for me, and the opportunity of a lifetime!” said Marky. “It really is a dream come true to be live on the radio in my hometown. I’m ready to light the city up with my positive vibe and love for my community!”
