Dr. Drew Draws New Co-Host
• Cumulus Media announced that Los Angeles TV anchor, reporter and pop culture observer Lauren Sivan has joined Dr. Drew Pinsky as the new co-host of Dr. Drew Midday Live with Lauren Sivan. She replaces Pinsky’s longtime co-host Mike Catherwood. The three-hour show debuted this week and airs live weekdays from noon-3pm PT on Cumulus News Talk KABC/Los Angeles and is simulcast from 1-3pm on News Talk sister KGO 810/San Francisco.
Sivan is no certainly stranger to the KABC audience — she previously filled in as co-host with Dr. Drew in middays and with John Phillips in afternoon drive, and has also anchored the news on McIntyre in the Morning. Sivan previously worked for KTTV (Fox 11)/Los Angeles as an anchor of the 5 O’Clock News, a general assignment reporter and as a correspondent for Good Day LA.
Dr. Drew said, “I’m looking forward to working with Lauren and connecting with listeners to talk about life issues, the politics of life and anything that helps listeners improve their personal situations. There is no better place than the legendary KABC and KGO 810 to engage and interact with the people in Los Angeles and San Francisco.” No less thrilled about this pairing is Ms. Sivan, who said, “I’m thrilled to join Dr. Drew as co-host, and to launch the next generation of this dynamic and engaging show. As a broadcast journalist, I love being able to talk with Dr. Drew and our listeners every day about issues that are relevant and topical — and often controversial. It[s a great pleasure to not only tell stories on the show, but to break them down and hear what people are really thinking and what really matters to them.”
