J.R. Jaus Wakes Up In Tampa

RAMP has learned that Beasley Media Group Country WQYK/Tampa Bay has hired format veteran J.R. Jaus as co-host of the newly rebranded Tampa Bay’s Morning Krewe with J.R. and Melanie, joining existing co-host Melanie Mineau and Producer Kevin Ebel. That co-pilot seat has been empty since Marc Jason exited in December after three years.

Jaus, who starts March 2, spent nearly four years as co-host of J.R. & Beth In The Morning with Beth Chandler on Cox Media Group Country KCYY (Y100)/San Antonio until last December. The move marks a return to the Sunshine State for Jaus, who previously did afternoons on CMG Country WWKA (K92.3)/Orlando.

OM Travis Daily said, “We are building something really special here and J.R. is the final piece of the puzzle that is built on unique content made in Tampa Bay for Tampa Bay. J.R. and Melanie will very quickly become the show everyone is talking about.”

Jaus commented, “This is a very exciting time for me. To be able to build a show under the direction of Travis Daily and alongside a talented co-host in Melanie Mineau is the opportunity I’ve been looking for. We are going to have a lot of fun in an amazing city! I’m very grateful to Travis and the Beasley family for this opportunity and can’t wait to create live, local, and unique radio for the Tampa area. HERE WE GO!!”
