Jimmy Ray Comes Home To Norfolk’s Eagle

• Max Media Hampton Roads is thrilled and whatnot to announce that, after a 7-year absence from terrestrial radio, prodigal son Jimmy Ray Dunn has come home to Country WGH-FM (97.3 The Eagle)/Norfolk, taking over afternoon drive, starting Monday, August. 1.

Dunn famously enjoyed a 20-year run as the Eagle’s morning co-host until 2015. For the past six years he’s been doing his own online radio show and pursuing a career in real estate. This time around, Dunn can comfortably set his alarm six hours later as he will anchor your drive home from 3-7pm ET.

“We are excited to have Jimmy Ray back on The Eagle,” said Keith Barton, President and Market Manager for Max Media Hampton Roads. “His passion for this station and this community is unmatched!.” Indeed, with a passion for local radio, community involvement and an affinity for local charities, the station says that Dunn is a perfect fit for a brand that has already established itself as a community-first station.

No less excited about his return is Jimmy Ray himself, who exclaimed, “97.3 The Eagle is in my DNA and it sure is good to be home!” Dunn fills the Eagle afternoon slot that was most recently occupied by Eddie Haskell, who left last week.
