Joe Pesh Wakes Up In San Antonio
• Cox Media Group’s heritage Country KCYY (Y100)/San Antonio announced the imminent arrival of Joe Pesh as its new morning co-host, plugging in across the console from veteran Beth Chandler to create Y100 Mornings with Beth and Big Joe, starting May 6.
Pesh will head south from Indianapolis, where he spent the past six years as host of the Joe and McKinzie morning show, which was based at Radio One Top 40 WNOW (Radio Now 100.9)/Indianapolis and simulcast on sister KROI (Radio Now 92.1)/Houston until last month.
“We are very excited to have Joe join the team here in San Antonio!” said Jeff Garrison, Operations Manager of CMG San Antonio. “We can’t wait to see his talent in action — just one minute speaking with Joe, and you know he’s committed to his work, passionate about his audiences and dedicated to doing his very best every day.”
Pesh previously did mornings on Midwest Communications’ Top 40 WSTO (Hot 96)/Evansville, IN and enjoyed a seven-year run with Cumulus Country WTNR/Grand Rapids, MI as morning show co-host/Executive Producer. Earlier in his career Pesh was an Asst. Producer for WXYT (97.1 The Ticket)/Detroit.
Commenting on his new Alamo City adventure, Pesh said, “I’m super excited to wake up in San Antonio alongside Beth Chandler and to work with the talented staff at Y100. I’m thankful to Jeff Garrison, David Abeland the entire Cox Media family for this amazing opportunity! Now can someone point me toward some BBQ?”
