Josh Innes Wakes Up In Nashville

• iHeartMedia Classic Rock WNRQ (105.9 The Rock)/Nashville announced the hire of major market veteran Josh Innes to anchor mornings, effective April 5. We are told that The Josh Innes Show “will be a Nashville-focused blend of classic rock, news, sports and commentary,” enjoyed weekday mornings from 6-10am CT.

“Josh is wildly talented as a personality, idea generator and storyteller,” said Jonathan Shuford, Program Director of 105.9 The Rock. “He’s unconventional, creative and exceptionally compelling. We’re beyond excited to welcome him to Nashville and foster in the next great Classic Rock morning show!”

Innes will relocate to Nashville from Houston, where he most recently hosted afternoon drive on Gow Media’s KFNC (ESPN 97.5 + 92.5). The move also marks a return to iHeartMedia, as Innes previously worked for iHeartMedia’s KMBE (SportsTalk790)/Houston, and earlier he was a staple at Entercom Sports-Talk WIP/Philadelphia. In his spare time Innes hosts a successful eponymous podcast, which is also named The Josh Innes Show, broadcast live on Twitch and heard on iHeartRadio and other podcast sources.

“I’m thrilled about this opportunity,” Innes said. “105.9 the Rock is an incredible brand and I look forward to helping take it to another level.”
