Keefe Joins WEEI/Boston

keefe-rich-2016Entercom Sports monster WEEI/Boston has inked Rich Keefe as the new afternoon co-host, plugging in next to Dale Arnold and Michael Holley weekdays from 2-6pm, starting today. Keefe (pictured) is a nine-year Boston sports radio vet who has worked in a variety of roles at CBS Radio rival WBZ-FM (98.5 The Sports Hub). He also hosts the pre and post-game shows on Patriots.com and has substituted on play-by-play broadcasts for the Boston Celtics Radio Network. In addition to his new role on the Dale & Holley show, Keefe will co-host a one-hour block with Mike Mutnansky weekdays from 6-7pm and be a daily contributor to WEEI.com via his popular “Keefer Madness” blog.

“We are proud to add a rising talent like Rich Keefe to our team,” said WEEI PD Joe Zarbano. “Rich brings an entertaining, opinionated and fresh outlook on the Boston sports landscape, and I have no doubt he will be a great addition to the Dale and Holley show.” Keefe said, “I grew up listening to [WEEI], and it’s pretty surreal to be teaming up with two of the greatest hosts in Boston sports talk history. I can’t wait to get started.” Keefe replaces Jerry Thornton, who left last month to join Barstool Sports as a senior columnist.
