KJ Bland Drives Denver Home

• Rick Thomas has hit the ground running, so to speak, since his recent arrival at Max Media Denver as VP of Programming & Operations — one of his first personnel moves was to promote major market vet KJ Bland from weekends/fill-in on Urban AC KJHM (Jammin’ 101.5) to fulltime afternoon drive host, starting today. The shift had been handled temporarily by beloved market vets Larry Ulibarri and Kathie J, whose regular fulltime radio gig is doing mornings across the hall on Rhythmic KFCO (Flo 107.1).

In a staff memo, Thomas said, “KJ brings with her very substantial large market experience and has the perfect personality and sound to help Jammin’ 1015 grow to… the next level™! Please join me in congratulating KJ and welcoming her to this enhanced role on our team.” Ms. Bland’s previous stops include middays at KRNB (Smooth R&B 105.7)/Dallas, MD/middays at WMKS/Greensboro and APD/middays at WJMZ (107.3 Jamz)/Greenville, SC.

Thomas added, “Meanwhile, a big thank you to Larry and Kathie, who have been holding down afternoons up to this point. L&K can now fully dedicate themselves to winning mornings on Flo 107.1!”
