Kulp Steps Down, Johnson Steps Up At KISQ/SF
• iHeartMedia San Francisco announced that market veteran Jack Kulp will end his run as morning co-host alongside Carolyn McArdle on Soft AC KISQ (98.1 The Breeze), effective May 5.
“Being part of The Breeze’s launch seven years ago couldn’t have been more rewarding, and co-hosting The Morning Breeze with Carolyn McArdle was more fun than anyone should be allowed have at ‘work,'” said Kulp (left), who notably enjoyed an 18-year run across the street at then Entercom-owned rival KOIT prior to joining KISQ in May 2016. He added, “But a few months ago, my wife and I concluded that, after over 25 years of waking up at 3:45am, it was time to silence the alarm clock. Thanks so much to [PD] Ricci Filiar, [RSVPP] Don Parker, and iHeart for giving me this fantastic opportunity.”
Kulp will be succeeded by Cort Johnson, starting Monday, May 8. Johnson (above, right) was a longtime fixture at Alpha Media Portland, OR, most notably as morning and afternoon host on Triple A KINK and APD of KINK & Country KUPL (98.7 The Bull). He also served a stint as Alpha Media’s National Digital Content Producer.
Filiar remarked, “We all want to congratulate Jack on his long and successful career and thank him for all his contributions to The Breeze since its launch in 2016. We wish him continued success and much happiness in the next chapter of his life. We also are happy to welcome Cort Johnson to The Breeze family and look forward to him and Carolyn McArdle taking The Morning Breeze to exciting new heights.”
The Morning Breeze leads into Lisa St. Regis in middays, Tony Sandoval from 3-8pm and Delilah from 8pm-1am.
