Lyons Presses Pause After Heart Surgery
• The RAMP crew extends our best wishes to our pal Danny Lyons, longtime midday talent at Connoisseur Media’s WEBE 108/Bridgeport, CT, who revealed that he recently underwent successful triple-bypass surgery. Lyons, who this year celebrated his 36th anniversary with WEBE 108, shared his news in a Facebook post, stating, “Thursday May 11, I came to Yale New Haven for an angiogram, which was going to be the biggest procedure in my life. I ended up with triple bypass surgery on May 15. What a shock to hear that news, especially for a guy who has managed to have no surgeries up until now. Not the best one for your first.”
The good news is, Lyons (pictured here with Nurse Caitlyn Grace) is now on the road to a full recovery, although he told us that he will be taking a few months off “to do whatever it takes to get back into the ‘Lyons Den.'” Later, Lyons told RAMP, “This will really be the longest stretch that someone else has been on middays since March of ’87! I’m grateful for the outpouring of support from my listeners, the love of my family and friends, and the unending support from my Connoisseur Media family as well!”
Connoisseur VP of Programming Keith Dakin remarked, “Everyone at Connoisseur Media CT wishes Danny well, and we miss him, not only on the air but in the hallways, and around the office. We eagerly await his return and are excited that he will feel so much better!”
Feel free to share your good wishes with Danny at Danny.Lyons@connoisseurct.com.
