• Entercom Classic Rock KSEG (Eagle 96.9)/Sacramento has inked major market veteran Chris McCoy to do nights. The move comes with an exciting cross-country road trip for McCoy (left), who most recently spent nine years in mornings on AC WMGQ (Magic 98.3)/New Brunswick, NJ until last November, when Beasley closed on its acquisition of Greater Media. Before that McCoy enjoyed 12 years in mornings on WBEB/Philadelphia and 15 years in various roles at WMGK/Philadelphia.

In a staff memo introducing McCoy, Eagle PD Brian Lopez said, “Chris joins us from the East Coast, where he’s enjoyed great success hosting top-rated shows in the highly competitive markets of Philadelphia, and New York/New Jersey. He’s a master-craftsman of stories, who’s drawn the admiration of his peers for his work ethic, professionalism, intelligence, and kindness.”

• Radio One Urban WCDX (iPower 92.1/104.1)/Richmond, VA has filled its midday vacancy with the talents of Jackie Paige, who is currently doing middays on Curtis Media Urban WIKS (101.9 Kiss FM)/New Bern-Greenville-Jacksonville, NC.

“Jackie is a natural talent whose love for radio and community, combined with the right mix of hunger and humility makes her the perfect addition to the Radio One Richmond team,” said Yonni Rude, Operations Manager of Radio One Richmond. “After our first convo I knew she was just as crazy and fun as the rest of us and would fit right in.” Paige starts her new adventure next Monday, August 14 and succeeds Paris Nicole, who in June earned a transfer to Throwback sister WPHI (Boom 103.9)/Philadelphia as APD/midday personality.

• After a quarter-century of waking up before the sun, Kellie Michaels is throwing away her alarm clock. Michaels, who is currently PD and co-host of the Brian & Kellie morning show with her husband Brian Pierce on Mid-West Family Country WUSW (US92.7)/Springfield, IL announced she’s calling it quits, effective August 21.

Michaels and Pierce have done mornings together for the past 25 years, beginning at AC sister WNNS/Springfield in November 1992. After a 15-year run there, the duo took their act to Scripps Country KFDI/Wichita for another eight years before coming home to help launch US92.7 in 2015. “After 25 years of getting up before the sun I wanted to step back and spend more time on other interests,” Michaels said. “It certainly is bittersweet. I have had a great time with Brian doing mornings, and I will certainly miss the fun Brian & I have had but certainly won’t miss the early morning hours.” Pierce’s new morning co-host will be Troy Armstrong, who moves up from weekends/fill-in.
