Mingione Joins WNEW/NYC

• Entercom Hot AC WNEW (NEW 102.7)/New York announces the arrival of John Mingione, who has joined Karen Carson in the Morning, plugging in across from host Karen Carson (center) and Producer “Intern Anthony” Malerba (left).

Mingione (right) is already a very familiar presence in the market, thanks to his nearly three-year stint across the street on Cumulus rival WPLJ, where he was a member of Todd & Jayde In The Morning and roamed the city as “Johnny on the Streets.” Before joining WPLJ in June 2016, Mingione worked for Cox Media Group Top 40 WBLI/Nassau-Suffolk as a member of Dana & Jayson in the Morning and as Director of Digital Media for WBLI and WBAB.

In making the big announcement, Jim Ryan, who doubles as SVP of Programming and PD of WNEW, commented, “The moment Karen heard John was available she smacked me in the head and said ‘we need to hire this guy.’ As soon as the stitches were removed, we met with John and signed him up. He and Anthony complement Karen perfectly… in fact, I heard them say in unison this morning that they liked her hairstyle.” Mingione exclaimed, “I’m ecstatic about joining forces with Entercom and I can’t wait to bring a fun new twist every morning to WNEW!”
