TuneIn Welcomes Chris Patyk

TuneIn, Inc., the leading global live audio streaming service, is proud to announce that Chris Patyk has officially joined the company to lead curation for its Alternative and Rock stations. In making the announcement, TuneIn Director of Music Programming and Operations, Quay Bangs said, “Chris is a radio renaissance man. He’s a prominent figure in the industry — anything he touches he improves immensely. His experience and wide range of talents are just a few of the reasons we are so lucky to have him as a member of the TuneIn family.”

Patyk most recently worked for Entercom San Diego until a year ago — he had programmed Alternative KBZT (ALT 94.9)as well as Top 40 KEGY (Energy 97.3) until its flip to Sports-Talk as KWFN (97.3 The Fan). Earlier programming stops include KUFO/Portland, OR and KZON (101.5 The Zone)/Phoenix. He was also APD/MD of KYSR/Los Angeles back during its Hot AC era as Star 98.7, and he notably broke into radio in 1993 as a producer for Jimmy Kimmel at KRQQ in his hometown of Tucson, where he also worked for Clear Channel.

Patyk commented, “The excitement of what’s happening at streaming right now is incredible, so working at TuneIn was the logical next step. At TuneIn, we’re passionate about celebrating new artists and the music they make. This makes for a great working environment as I grew up looking for music that was always outside of what was established; so finding new music has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. I’m excited to share this with the 75 million TuneIn listeners worldwide.” Patyk can be reached at cpatyk@tunein.com.
