Nashville Personnel Shuffle
Midwest Communications Nashville announced several high profile staff changes at Top 40 WNFN (i106.7) and AC WXJA (Mix 92.9)/Nashville, all of which take effect on August 21. The action starts at i106.7, as Brand Manager Joe Breezy explains, “Butter (left) is retaining his APD/MD responsibilities at WNFN and moving to sister WXJA for 10am-12pm on-air. He’s also becoming the cluster videographer for all three stations. Starting August 21, Kage (center) will become our new midday personality and WNFN Social Media Coordinator.” Ms. Kage arrives from iHeartMedia, where she was Assistant Digital PD/part-time personality on WRVW (107.5 The River) and midday talent on ALT 98.3. Breezy said, “Kage’s excitement is truly infectious and her love for Nashville and i106.7 made her the easy choice to help lead our team!” Breezy is also filling his night show with JR Ramsey (right), who had done nights on Townsquare Top 40 WJBQ (Q97.9)/Portland, ME. Breezy said, “JR is a true winner with one of the best attitudes in radio I’ve seen in a long time. His 360-degree approach to his show is a perfect fit for our brand and he’ll be a huge advocate for us on the streets and on-line. So when you’re thinking on-air, on-line and on-site… JR is your guy!”
• Across the hall, Mix 92.9 prepares to welcome two new members of the Mix Morning Show team — Brandon O’Brien (left), former PD/afternoon talent on Sinclair Country WUSH (US106.1)/Norfolk and Ricki Smith (right), most recently morning co-host on Hubbard Radio’s WARH (106.5 The Arch)/St. Louis, will join current Producer/co-host Clint Redwine in mornings, beginning August 21. Operations Manager Barbara Bridges said, “These two individuals have a ton of talent and this combination with Clint will elevate an already successful morning show to… the next level™. We’re thrilled that this all came together!”
Concurrent with these morning moves, longtime Mix morning co-host Anna Marie (left) will transition to nights. Bridges added, “Anna has a 20-year track record of success with our female audience and our fans absolutely love her! The warmth and connection she will bring to a special nighttime show will be amazing. I can’t wait to hear what we can do when Anna gets rolling!” Anna Marie added, “I’m so excited! I love my listeners and this move gives me the opportunity to get closer to them. We’ve had a wonderful 20-year relationship so far and now we get a new time and space to get together. I expect beautiful things!”
