New Crimefighting Duo: Pringle & Crockett
• Entercom Classic Rock KGON/Portland, OR makes a dual announcement that involves market vet Steve Pringle — 1) Pringle (left) is bringing his long-running Sunday Night Blues Room back to where it began — KGON, starting this Sunday, August 6, where it will run from 7-10pm. Sunday Night Blues Room was most recently carried across the street on Alpha Media Triple A KINK. And 2) Mr. Pringle has also been tapped to do the night show on KGON weeknights from 7-10pm.
“The Sunday Night Blues Room began on KGON and it’s only fitting that we host it once again,” said PD Chris Crowley. “The addition of the show and host Steve Pringle only serve to prove that KGON is committed to our community and committed to playing the greatest music ever recorded.” Pringle said, “I want to thank Chris Crowley and Bill Ashenden here at KGON. They have been two great warriors to have in my corner in bringing the Blues Room back to where it began and belongs.”
• Kevin Crockett has been hired as the new morning show co-host on Cumulus AC WLEV/Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, PA. Crockett (left) will plug in next to Selena Robinson to form the new Selena and Crockett morning show, which debuts in mid-August. Crockett succeeds Scott Evans, who retired in June. Crockett rides into town sporting some serious Philadelphia radio cred — he recently served as the Executive Producer of The Breakfast Club on CBS Radio Classic Hits WOGL. Before that he was heard in mornings on Country sister WXTU, and Crockett started his career at the former WRDW (Wired 96.5).
WLEV OM/PD Jerry Padden said, “I’m extremely excited to welcome Kevin to the Cumulus team. From the time that he and Selena first met, the fireworks went off. I’m sure that our current and new LEV listeners will feel the same way.” VP/Market Manager Elizabeth Pembleton said, “I echo Jerry’s enthusiasm. Selena and Crockett are a dynamic pair. Their mutual talent, energy and passion are contagious. I’m looking forward to hearing them evolve and watching them engage listeners. Special thanks to RVP Ron Giovanniello and VP of Programming Ops Greg Frey for their support during the search.” Crockett commented, “I can’t put into words how EXCITED I am to join the team at Cumulus and WLEV. They are a passionate group, and I’m stoked to be a part of it!”
