Parker Drives You Home On WLS-FM
Veteran jock Ron Parker has been hired as the new afternoon personality on Cumulus Classic Hits WLS-FM/Chicago. Parker made his Windy City debut yesterday at 3pm CT. Parker previously on the air at WNSH (NASH FM 94.7)/New York and was a No. 1 host in two different dayparts on WCBS-FM/New York. He also worked for SiriusXM and held on-air and programming posts in San Francisco, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix and Tallahassee, to name a few.
In making the announcement, WLS-FM PD Brian Thomas said: “Ron is one of the premier talents of the Classic Hits format and has always achieved ratings success.” Parker commented, “This is a great opportunity and I really want to thank Mike McVay and Market Manager Peter Bowen and I look forward to working with Brian Thomas again… and who didn’t grow up listening to the legendary WLS…” Parker succeeds market vet Robert Murphy, who exited on December 30.
