• The powers-that-be at Radio One Top 40 KROI (Radio Now 92.1)/Houston were very busy behind the scenes over the long holiday weekend, locking down two new personalities — Laura “On Air Laura” Dickerson, former morning show co-host/co-producer on Riviera Broadcasting Hot AC KMVA (Hot 97.5/103.9)/Phoenix is now doing afternoon drive, followed by Amir Diamond from 7-midnight. Diamond crosses the hall from late nights on sister KBXX (97.9 The Box). Solidifying this new line-up, MD DJ Riddler winds down from his former marathon noon-6pm shift and is now doing the more civilized 10am-2pm show.

• Community Broadcasters, LLC has named Mary Jo as the new midday talent at WECQ (Q92)/Ft. Walton Beach-Destin, FL. Mary Jo (left) is a local girl who started as an intern at Community Broadcasters and worked her way up to part-time/weekends. “Mary Jo is smart, funny, and a breath of fresh air,” said OM Matt Stone. “I’m glad that we found a local talent in the area and I’m looking forward to watching her grow at Community Broadcasters.” PD Chelsea Alayne said, “I’m beyond excited to add Mary Jo to the team. She brings a localized element to the station and her video production and social media skills will only help further Q92’s domination of the market!”
