Pros In Motion: Dutchess & Baisden
• Radio One Urban WQNC (92.7 The Block)/Charlotte welcomes reality TV star/tattoo aficionado Dutchess to the crew to host a new Sunday show from noon-4pm, beginning August 13. Dutchess, a native of Lincolnton, NC, is a star on the VH1 reality series, Black Ink Crew and the owner of the “Pretty-N-Ink” tattoo boutique in Charlotte.
PD Mary K said, “I’m thrilled to have Dutchess join the 92.7 The Block team! She has a great energy, contagious spirit, generous heart and immeasurable talents.” Doug James, VP/GM of Radio One Charlotte added, “Dutchess is an exceptional artist and media personality. We are very excited that she is bringing her talents to our fantastic line-up on 92.7 The Block.”
• A familiar Ft. Wayne radio voice is now back behind the mic, at least part-time — Dan Baisden, better known and loved as Dan Kennedy is now doing weekends/fill-in at Adams Radio Group’s AC WWFW (103.9 Sunny FM).
Baisden notably programmed Sarkes Tarzian Hot AC rival WAJI (Majic 95.1) until August 2015, when he left the radio industry.
