• Hearst-owned News-Talk WBAL (NewsRadio 1090)/Baltimore expands its local weeknight talk offerings with a new 8-11pm show hosted by Dan Joseph, whose interesting career path also includes acting, a political blog and media projects.
Cary Pahigian, President & GM of WBAL Radio and WIYY (98 Rock), said, “Providing Baltimore and Maryland with the most local news and talk is Job 1 at WBAL NewsRadio 1090. With Dan’s new 8-11pm program, WBAL now is the area’s only destination weeknights for live and local conversation and insight.”
Joseph (pictured) commented, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be here at WBAL, and I’m so grateful to discuss the issues of the day with the people of Baltimore, each night. It’s an honor to be part of the WBAL NewsRadio 1090 line-up.”
• Entercom announced on-air lineup changes for Sports-Talk KDKA (93.7 The Fan)/Pittsburgh, the flagship station of the Pittsburgh Pirates and University of Pittsburgh football and basketball. These changes go into effect on September 4 –5:40-10am: The Fan Morning Show with Colin Dunlap and new addition Chris Mack, who currently hosts the station’s pre-and postgame shows for Pirates’ broadcasts. Jim Colony exits. 10am-2pm: The Ron and Joe Show, hosted by Ron Cook and Joe Starkey, who will be joined on a weekly basis by television sports personality Bob Pompeani. 2-6pm: The PM Team with Poni and Mueller, hosted by former midday personality Andrew Fillipponi and Chris Mueller, and from 6-10pm its The Paul Zeise Show.
