That Harvey Holiday Spirit
• Philadelphia radio icon Harvey Holiday recently announced that, after nearly three decades on Entercom Classic Hits WOGL, he’s hanging up his headphones on December 12 — but not before celebrating with the 12 Days of Harvey Holiday.
As Holiday recalls, “My first show on WOGL was July 2, 1989 — 29 marvelous years — what a ride… but it’s time. Most radio personalities don’t get the chance to say goodbye on the air, but I will be lucky enough to do so — for 12 days! WOGL is giving me and you, my listeners, MUCH respect by giving me 12 days to say thank you, share memories and celebrate.”
The 12 Days of Harvey Holiday begins on December 1 and will roll through December 12, Holiday’s last day on WOGL. “On behalf of Oil Can and myself, we thank you so much for making every day a ‘Holiday,’ and a special thank you to our Sunday Night listeners,” he said. “Still feelin’ good like a rockin’ jock should.
