The Fan/Denver Signs Nick Ferguson
• Bonneville Sports-Talk KKFN (Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan)/Denver bolsters its airstaff with the talents of another former NFL star with the hire Nick Ferguson as host of The Safety Blitz with Nick Ferguson, weekdays from 9am-noon, starting April 29. Last week the station announced the hire of former Denver Bronco Tom Nalen as afternoon co-host. That’s Ferguson (center), during the obligatory contract-signing photo op, bookended by Fan PD Raj Sharan (left) and VP/GM Bob Call (right).
Ferguson spent ten years as a safety in the NFL, including five with the Broncos from 2003-2007. He also played for the New York Jets and Houston Texans. He later participated in coaching internships with the 49ers, Broncos, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans. Ferguson spent the 2018 NFL season as an assistant coach with the San Francisco 49ers. He also brings radio experience from NFL on TuneIn, NBC Sports Radio, WQXI (790 The Zone)/Atlanta and KFWB (the former 980 The Beast)/Los Angeles.
“Nick is an absolute ball of energy that Broncos Country is going to fall in love with,” said Raj Sharan. “In his playing days with the Broncos, he would interact with fans and teammates while stretching at training camp. He called it ‘The Nick Ferguson Show,’ and it was often the most entertaining time of practice. Nick’s time as a recent NFL coach and former Broncos player combined with his incredible charisma makes him an extremely unique and valuable addition to our team.” Ferguson remarked, “The city of Denver and its fans have always held a special place in my heart. Being a part of an organization with similar values enticed me to join the Bonneville family. As the community gets to know me, they’ll see my mission has always been about helping others.”
The Safety Blitz with Nick Ferguson will be co-hosted by John Davis, who has been with been 104.3 The Fan since 2018. The new show replaces Pritchard & Cecil, and hosts Cecil Lammey and Mike Pritchard will remain with the company in new roles — Lammey will serve as digital talent for 1043TheFan.com while Pritchard will be a fill-in host.
