WKLB/Boston Welcomes Jim Clerkin

• Congrats to Boston radio pro Jim Clerkin, who has been named as the new morning show producer on Beasley’s WKLB (Country 102.5)/Boston, plugging in across the console from hosts Jackson Blue and Ayla Brown.

It’s a fulltime upgrade for Clerkin, who had been producing the show on a part-time basis for the past few weeks. Before that he was Executive Producer of the Boston.com Morning Show over on Entercom Talk WRKO.

Clerkin famously spent 16 years across the street with iHeartMedia Boston, eight of those as APD/MD of WXKS (Kiss 108) — working with a dude named “Kid David” — who grew up to become David Corey, now PD of WKLB. He also produced Matty Siegel‘s morning show on Kiss and was MD of former EDM outlet Evolution 101.7. Clerkin also briefly ventured outside his native New England to program SummitMedia Hot AC WPYA (97.3 Play)/Birmingham, AL until November 2016. Clerkin is now on the job and can be reached at james.clerkin@bbgi.com.
