WNEW Freshens Its Lineup
CBS Radio Hot AC WNEW (Fresh 102.7)/New York announced several significant personnel moves, starting with Mike Adam, who has been elevated from part-time to afternoon drive, as Cane shifts to the 7-midnight shift. Current evening personality Matt Sneed will now do the midday show on Saturdays and Sundays.
Adam (left) joined Fresh 102.7 in July for summer fill-in duties. Before that he was doing weekends across the hall on Top 40 sister WBMP (92.3 AMP Radio). Adam’s major market resume includes afternoon drive on former CBS Radio Top 40 WZMP (96.5 AMP Radio)/Philadelphia and nights on iHeartMedia’s WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia, WKSS (Kiss 95.7)/Hartford and WWVA (WiLD 105.7 & 96.7)/Atlanta. Cane (center) plied his trade at the late, great WXRK (92.3 K-Rock) and Z100/New York before joining Fresh 102.7 in 2014. Sneed (right) also joined Fresh in 2014 after doing weekends at WXTU/Philadelphia and he put in 12 years at WPST/Trenton.
Commenting on his newly revised schedule, Jim Ryan, SVP of Programming for CBS Radio New York, said, “Mike’s experience in CHR in Philly and on our sister station, 92.3 AMP, will help WNEW grow with an active audience. Cane’ longtime experience in the New York market is invaluable, and we look forward to Matt’s continuing contributions in his fill-in and weekend starring roles. I’m very excited about this new line-up on Fresh.”
Adam commented, “I’ve been trying to convince Jim to hire me for quite a while now… I guess I finally wore him down. Jim Ryan is a legend in the industry; I’m honored I get to work for him. This gig is every radio jock’s dream, including mine. Thank you to Jim, Chris Oliviero and my agent, Tony Burton.”
