WPXY Goes Young

Entercom Top 40 WPXY (98PXY)/Rochester, NY welcomes Whitney Young (left) to the family as the new midday personality. In a staff memo, PD Mike Danger said, “Whitney, a NYU grad, has spent her early adult life living in Los Angeles and New York. She hosted a variety of online entertainment shows while in Los Angeles and, in New York she contributed to the social media efforts at Hearst Publications (Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire). Whitney worked part time on-air for us a couple of years ago and contributed to our video efforts as well. A Fairport, NY native, I’m confident she will be a significant addition to our team.”

Young succeeds the vocal contributions Natalia Soniak, who had been performing the shift remotely from Norfolk for the past year and a half. Danger said, “Natalia, already the PD of our WNVZ (Z104)/Norfolk, was just awarded additional programming responsibilities for our Norfolk cluster’s Hot AC sister [WPTE (94.9 The Point)]. She’s been a consistent performer and delivered ratings success that will be a challenge to match. I’m grateful for all she’s done for us, excited for her future and proud to call her a friend.”
