CMG LI Extends Rock & Ali

• Busy day at Cox Media Group Long Island, which ordered extra pens in order to facilitate some sweet multi-year contract extensions with Joe Rock, afternoon talent on Classic Rock 102.3 WBAB, and Alexandra “Ally Ali” morning co-host across the hall on Top 40 WBLI (106.1 BLI).

“Joe is a deeply talented radio host and producer, and I’m thrilled that he’ll be engaging our audiences and providing compelling content to our listeners for years to come,” said Chris Eagan, SVP of Audience & Programming for CMG Radio. Rock will continue to host morning drive on KTKX/San Antonio & KJSR Tulsa, and middays at WMMO/Orlando. He’ll also produce and develop content for all of CMG’s Classic Hits websites. “Joe’s unparalleled dedication, talent, and ability to connect with our audience make him an indispensable part of WBAB’s success,” said Katelin Tinley, VP/GM of CMG Radio Long Island. “His passion for Rock music and his engaging personality are driving forces behind his success. Here’s to many more years of rocking the airwaves with Joe!”

“WBAB has felt like home since waking up to it from my clock radio all through high school,” Rock said. “Nothing makes me happier than sticking around with my family of listeners who have been with us for all these years, those just discovering us, and the most amazing team and company in the business.”

• Across the hall on 106.1 BLI, Ally also inked a multi-year deal to continue as co-host of The Syke Morning Show with Ally Ali. Chris Eagan said, “This deal cements our partnership with Ally, ensuring that the audience will enjoy waking up with her positivity, warmth, and irresistible personality each morning.”

VP/GM Katelin Tinley added, “Ally’s infectious energy, authenticity, and genuine connection with listeners have made her an integral part of BLI’s identity. Her unwavering commitment to delivering top-notch entertainment and engaging content ensures that WBLI continues to be a staple in the Long Island community. We look forward to many more mornings filled with laughter, music, and memorable moments with Ally at the helm.”

“What can I say! Being a part of The Syke Morning Show with Ally Ali has been one of the greatest blessings of my life,” said Ally, who started as an intern and worked her way up. “I’m honored to be continuing my journey at CMG Long Island, and, as a woman of color, I hope throughout my career here, I continue to represent every type of woman, and that our listeners see a little piece of themselves in me.”
