A Galaxy Not That Far, Far Away

Galaxy Media announced that Carrie J. Wojtaszek has been promoted to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer. Wojtaszek (pictured) is a 10-year Galaxy veteran who has served as General Manager of Galaxy Events since 2013. She will retain that role while adding responsibility for Galaxy’s 13 radio stations (8 in Syracuse, NY, 5 in Utica, NY), the company’s digital division and its sports marketing organization.

“It’s hard to quantify the impact that Carrie has had on Galaxy,” said Ed Levine, President/CEO of Galaxy Media. “Carrie and Pam Levine have built Galaxy Events from nothing to a nationally known brand. I’m excited to watch the impact that she will have in all of our divisions in the coming years.” Wojtaszek commented, “Galaxy Events has experienced tremendous growth and success over the past decade. I’m looking forward to expanding my role and bringing new ideas to all the divisions of Galaxy Media.”

Wojtaszek’s appointment comes as Galaxy just completed a nearly $10 million refinancing of the company. Levine said, “Our balance sheet has never been stronger and with the buying out of our former private equity partners, Galaxy is truly poised to become the pinnacle of a locally owned modern media company.”
