Beasley Executive Action
• Beasley Media Group announced Brad Beasley has been promoted to the corporate role of Vice President of Operations at Beasley Media Group. In this new position, Beasley will based out of the company’s HQ in Naples, Florida and work closely with company President Bruce Beasley and Chief Operating Officer Brian Beasley in overseeing the day-to day operations of the company’s 64 radio stations.
Beasley (left) was most recently VP/Market Manager of the company’s six-station Southwest Florida group. Before that he served as General Manager and Program Director of WRXK (96K-Rock)/Ft. Myers.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brad to our corporate team at the company,” said CEO Caroline Beasley. “His personal insight, experience and leadership will be valuable in our markets as he works closely with our teams on a daily basis throughout the company.” Brad Beasley commented, “I look forward to this exciting new phase of my broadcasting career. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to work alongside our corporate team and with all of our great stations across the country.”
• At the same time it was announced that Brad Beasley will be succeeded as VP/Market Manager of the Southwest Florida radio properties by AJ Lurie, who currently serves as Director of Local Market Integrated Partnerships at Beasley eSports and Market Manager of WJBR/Wilmington, DE. The upgrade means a homecoming for Lurie (left), a graduate of Florida State University who started his radio career as an AE at Beasley’s Southwest Florida cluster.
“AJ was the perfect choice to lead our six radio properties in Southwest Florida,” said Beasley CEO Caroline Beasley. “His leadership and previous experience working in the market made him the perfect choice for the position. We look forward to AJ working closely with our teams to take the cluster to the next level and beyond.”
Lurie was named to the Delaware Business Times “40 Under 40” List in 2018. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board on behalf of the State Broadcasters Association of Maryland, DC, and Delaware. “It feels great to be back home where I started my career,” Lurie said. “I’m honored to take the reins from Brad Beasley, who built a cluster with some incredible brands.”
