New Day Dawns @ Bob 106.9

• Dick Broadcasting Company Country WUBB (Bob 106.9)/Savannah, GA-Hilton Head, SC announced several major personnel changes, starting in the programming department, as Hunter Meyer scores the transfer to the Bob 106.9 PD post from Mainstream Rock sister WMFX (Fox 102.3)/Columbia, SC. Meyer (left) will also be the co-host of WUBB’s newly minted morning team of Hunter & Leslie In The Morning, partnering with Leslie Hall (right), who notably spent a decade in mornings on Saga Alternative WLZX (Lazer 99.3/105.1)/Springfield, MA until June 2017, when she relocated to Sarasota, FL.

Hunter & Leslie In The Morning will succeed WUBB’s long-running Tim Leary and The Showgram (Tim Leary, Karen “Red” Daiss and Claire Beverly, pictured, below), who are on their way to Seattle as the new morning show on Hubbard Country KNUC (98.9 The Bull). The Showgram‘s last day at WUBB will be Friday, April 27, followed by a public going-away party that evening. Hunter and Leslie in the Morning will debut on Monday, April 30.

“It’s never easy to replace a show like The Morning Showgram,” remarked Operations Manager Gabe Reynolds. “They meant so much to the station and the community, so I think we all feel very lucky to have found Hunter and Leslie. I truly believe we’ve got something special.” Market Manager Aaron Wilborn said, “It’s a very special time for Tim, Claire and Karen. They have done such an amazing job in the Savannah and Hilton Head markets that they have created the next opportunity for themselves in one of the top markets in the country. What you hear (or see) is truly who they are as people. Their kindness, generosity, and community interests have really made an impact here. We will be sad to see them go, but this has created an opportunity to find even more talented people in our industry and bring something just as special here to the area.”

Jason Goodman, DBC VP of Programming said, “After a nationwide search, Aaronand Gabe did a remarkable job connecting these two as they had instant chemistry and engaging content together.” Meyer commented, “We’ve got big shoes to fill, but we’re up for the challenge. It’s a great station, in a great market, and I can’t wait to get started.” Hall remarked, “I’m so excited to make Bob 106.9 and Savannah my new home and I’m honored to work with a solid crew of people.”
