Butler Returns To KJLH As Market Manager

• Late Thursday night we were informed that Stevie Wonder-owned Urban AC KJLH/Los Angeles has named veteran L.A. radio executive Elston Butler as Market Manager. Karen Slade remains with the station as VP/General Manager.

The move marks a return to KJLH for Butler, who served as Local Sales Manager there from 2010-2014. For the past four years he worked for iHeartMedia as VP of Sales and VP of Sponsorship and Events for the company’s Southern California Region. Earlier in his career Butler held Los Angeles-area management positions with ABC/Disney, KROQ (under Infinity) and All-Pro Broadcasting.

“I’m excited to return to this amazing historic property,” Butler remarked. “KJLH is the voice of the community and I look forward to cultivating all aspects of the radio station. It’s going to be an incredible ride for our listeners and the market. I feel like when I was a kid and the street lights came on… my mother has called me home.” Butler reports directly to ownership.
