Byars Named GM, NRG Media Omaha

• NRG Media just introduced Keely Byars as the new General Manager of the company’s seven-station Omaha group — Hot AC KQKQ (Sweet 98.5); Rhythmic KOPW (Power 106.9); Adult Hits KOOO (101.9 The Keg); News-Talk 1290 KOIL-AM, Regional Mexican KMMQ-AM (La Nueva 99.5 & 1020), and Sports-Talk duo KOZN (1620 The Zone) and KZOT-AM (1180 The Zone 2).

“Keely Byars is an energetic leader with a broad base of experience in media, digital innovation, content development, and operations,” said Jim Smith, NRG Media COO/CFO. “She is a native Nebraskan who is passionate about local media and the Omaha community. Keely understands our commitment to excellence, and we are thrilled to have her join our talented team in Omaha.”

Byars most recently served as Director of Franchise Performance for Hello Garage. She earlier held leadership positions with TapOnIt, Lee Enterprises and Berkshire Hathaway Media, including serving as a Group Publisher in Charlottesville, VA, and VP of Sales at the Omaha World-Herald.
