• Cox Media Group Atlanta has named Mike Watkins as the new Local Sales Manager for News-Talk WSB-AM (News 95.5/AM 750), Hot AC WSB-FM (B98.5), Classic Hits WSRV (97.1 The River), Urban AC WALR (Kiss 104.1) and WNGC/WTSH (Your Georgia Country 106.1/107.1). Watkins is already a well-known presence in the building — for the past 20 years, he’s been a Media Consultant for CMG Atlanta. Watkins arrived in the market in 1993 as the PD of WALR, and he spent the first half of his career on the programming side at legendary stations KDKA/Pittsburgh and WGCI/Chicago.

“I’m thrilled to promote talent from within the organization,” said Jaleigh Long, CMG Atlanta Radio’s Director of Sales. “Mike Watkins is a proven leader in marketing strategy and has a pervasive background in digital marketing. Partnering with current GSMs Beth Bowers, Kris Hackett and Mark Turcotte only strengthens our sales organization and leading this team into a new era at CMG Atlanta.”

Watkins said, “I am honored and humbled to become a part of the sales leadership team with Cox Media Group Atlanta Radio. I’m convinced that there’s no better collection of marketers in America than the Media Consultants with whom we work. I’ve been fortunate to form a number of rewarding relationships over the 20 years that I’ve been a part of the Cox family and I’m excited to be placed in a role that allows me to help even more clients and businesses throughout the market. I’m blessed to have this opportunity.”

John Ludwig has been named Sr. Account Manager for the Adams Radio Group cluster in Salisbury-Ocean City, MD. Ludwig segues from Entercom in Portland, OR, where he spent the past 13 years as a sales consultant. He began his career there in 2005 via Entercom’s successful “Sales Associate” program.

Ludwig said, “Thirteen years later and I’m grateful and humbled at being able to consistently achieve success and also to have been a valued member of an amazing total radio team at Entercom Portland. I value a collaborative approach with both my clients and local radio team and look forward to bringing the same positive and optimistic attitude along with a fresh perspective to the community in the Salisbury-Ocean City area.” VP/GM Paul Burton added, “We are looking forward to John’s arrival and his leadership on the team. We have no doubts that he can teach us a thing or two… and help us continue to build our amazing cluster in Delmarva.”
