Gonzalez Named Pres., iHeart Miami/Ft. Lauderdale
• iHeartMedia has promoted Shari Gonzalez to Market President of the company’s nine-station Miami/Fort Lauderdale cluster. Gonzalez joined iHeartMedia in 2015 and most recently served as Region SVP of Sales for iHeartMedia Miami/Fort Lauderdale. She reports to Division President Linda Byrd, who commented, “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to promote Shari into her first Market President role. In the short time that we have worked together, I have seen her competitiveness, work ethic and ability to move her team in the direction we need to go. Shari has the experience and smarts to make a great Market President of iHeartMedia Miami/Fort Lauderdale. She will be a great leader in one of our most important markets.”
Gonzalez is 30-year radio industry pro, most of that time spent in the D.C. market. Before joining iHeartMedia she served as General Sales Manager and Director of Sales for CBS Radio Washington, D.C. Earlier in her career Gonzalez was an Account Exec for WJZE-FM and WGAY/WWRC-FM before settling into a 15-year stint in sales and leadership at WMAL-AM. She began her radio journey as a Sales Asst. at WDJY-FM/Washington, D.C.
