iHeart Albany Pres. Delaney Retiring
• iHeartMedia Albany announced the impending retirement of Kristen Delaney, 32-year industry veteran who spent the past decade as Area President for iHeartMedia Albany, NY. Her last day will be December 31, 2021.
“Rarely do you see someone so inspiring and skilled at their profession as Kristen Delaney,” said Hartley Adkins, President of the iHeartMedia Markets Group. “After almost 23 years with iHeartMedia, she still treated every day as a new adventure and those of us in her orbit all benefited. I applaud her in taking one more adventurous step to retirement. Kristen’s presence will be missed beyond words.”
Delaney began her broadcasting career in 1989 in Utica, NY as an Account Exec and was promoted to Local Sales Manager in 1996. Three years later she joined then Clear Channel Albany as General Sales Manager. She was elevated to Director of Sales in 2000, Market Manager in 2006, and since 2011, Delaney has served as Albany Area President, overseeing the Albany & Poughkeepsie, NY markets, as well as Sussex, NJ. Delaney currently serves on the board of the New York State Broadcasters Association and the Capital District Radio Association.
“It’s been a great pleasure working with Kristen,” said Dan Lankford, Division President for iHeartMedia’s Multi-Platform Group. “Albany’s years of success are a direct result of the hard work and dedication Kristen has to her profession.” Delaney noted, “It’s been an incredible 32-year career in broadcasting and I’m so thankful for the last 23 years with iHeartMedia. It has been such an honor to entertain and inform our communities, connect our listeners to our advertisers, and raise much-needed funds for several organizations. Over the years, I have met and worked with so many incredibly talented people and formed friendships that will last for years to come.”
