Mike Rossi Exits WSTW/Wilmington

• In what can best be termed a hugely disappointing ending to an already terrible year, RAMP learned that Mike Rossi, a fixture in the hallways of Forever Media Hot AC WSTW/Wilmington, DE since the late ’80s, has exited as PD and midday personality.

Rossi (left) joined WSTW as a part-timer back in 1987 and was upped to full-time middays in January 1992. In October of that same year he was upped to MD, and in March 1997 was elevated to Associate PD. In Oct. 2011, following the departure of PD Mike Yeager, Rossi was named interim PD, ably serving in that role until Feb. 2013, when he was formally awarded permanent PD stripes.

“It has been my privilege to help build a great brand in my hometown,” Rossi tells RAMP. “The current on-air staff of Joe Alan, Nancy Johnson, Aaron Price and Niki Nite will continue to do great things for Wilmington as have the all of the great professionals that proceeded them. It’s been a great run for me and I appreciate all the kind words of support.” Looking ahead, Mike Rossi can be contacted at shwow917@gmail.com.
