Lawless Ready For Next Chapter
• After a quarter-century of service with Cox Media Group, Keith Lawless has tendered his resignation as Regional VP/GM of the company’s Tampa Bay and Houston properties, effective Sept. 2.
Lawless started his CMG journey in 2000 when he was named GSM of Alternative WSUN (97X)/Tampa. In 2005 Lawless was upped to VP/GM of the cluster’s Rock-focused properties – 97X, WHPT (102.5 The Bone)and Classic Hits WXGL (107.3 The Eagle). From 2009-2021 Lawless served as VP/Market Manager of CMG Tampa Bay, before he was elevated to RVP/GM of CMG Tampa and Houston in March 2021.
RAMP caught up with Lawless, who says he’s taking a much-needed time-out with his family. “I couldn’t be more grateful to CMG for the opportunity they have given me over the past 25 years,” he said. “I am especially grateful to [CMG EVP/Head of Radio] Rob Babin and the brilliant teams in Tampa and Houston. I know they will continue to achieve great things.”
