Shecterle Bound For Omaha
• NRG Media has named Mark Shecterle as Market Manager of the company’s seven-station Omaha group, effective December 10. “We are thrilled to have Mark join NRG,” said Mary Quass, President/CEO of NRG Media. “He brings extensive experience in management, sales and marketing to the market and he understands the importance of NRG’s mission to provide great local radio. We are confident with Mark’s leadership, he will continue to develop innovative strategies for the market while providing great local radio.”
Shecterle most recently worked for United States Traffic Network as VP of Sales, South, but he’s probably best known for his 18-year run with heritage Top 40 KRBE/Houston, rising through the ranks from the promotions department to VP/GM, exiting in May 2006 shortly before the sale from Susquehanna to Cumulus closed. He later worked as Director of Sales for Westwood One, Total Traffic and Weather Network and Radio One Houston.
Shecterle said, “I look forward to the opportunity to work with a great team already in place at NRG Media in Omaha! I’m excited about the opportunity work with a very talented group of individuals and a great radio company. I look forward to calling Omaha home.”
Shecterle succeeds Kurt Luchs, who left in late August to become VP/Market Manager of Midwest Communications’ five-station cluster in Kalamazoo, MI.
