Laura Okmin, who co-hosted WWO’s nightly two-hour show, Today in PyeongChang, was fortunate enough to have some up-close-and-personal interaction with several members of Team USA, the human highlight reel that beat Team Canada in a wild shootout to win American’s first gold medal in women’s ice hockey since 1998.

Pictured, (l-r): Monique Lamoureux, who tied the game 2-2 on a beautiful breakaway with six minutes to go in the third period, sending the game to OT; 20-year-old goalie Maddie Rooney, who stopped Canada’s final shot; Jocelyne Lamoureux, who completely faked out Team Canada goalie Shannon Szabados with that now legendary “Oops, I Did I Again” move during the shootout that ended up being the game winner; Okmin; Team USA Captain Meghan Duggan and forward Hilary Knight, who scored the crucial first goal of the game.
