Adrian Kulp Joins ‘Backstage Country’
• United Stations has added the talents of syndication veteran Adrian Kulp as Sr. Talent/Content Producer for its new five-hour weekday show, Backstage Country. The announcement of Kulp’s hire comes from United Stations’ EVP of Programming, Andy Denemark. In this new role, Kulp will oversee the research and writing of the program as well as directing the talent during their hosting sessions.
Kulp spent the past year as Sr. Executive Producer for former Westwood One-syndicated The Ty Bentli Show, exiting in May, shortly after Bentli left the show. For almost a decade before that, Kulp worked as an executive with Adam Sandler‘s Happy Madison Productions. He previously booked comedians on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, followed by a stint as VP of Development for Chelsea Handler‘s Borderline Amazing Productions. He also served as a Sr. Story Producer for the A&E reality series Modern Dads. Kulp is also a published author — his first book, a comedic memoir based on his blog, Dad or Alive, sold to Penguin Publishing. He has since published a best-selling parenting trilogy as well as the newly released World’s Greatest Dad Jokes.
As we recently reported, Backstage Country will be hosted by Country Music stars on a rotating basis, one week at a time. Backstage Country is intended to fill a daypart on Mainstream Country radio stations and will be made available beginning the week of September 14, 2020. Beasley Media Group has signed on as the flagship group of affiliates for Backstage Country with WXTU/Philadelphia, WKLB/Boston, WQYK/Tampa, WSOC/Charlotte, KCYE/Las Vegas, WKML/Fayetteville and WKXC/Augusta all joining the network lineup from launch.
Kulp currently lives in Nashville with his wife, a reality TV producer, and four young children. He can be reached at adriankulp@gmail.com.
