Bud & Broadway Back In The Saddle
• We are pleased to report that veteran Country radio duo Bud & Broadway, who have been sidelined since COVID-19-related budget cuts eliminated their morning gig at Hubbard Radio’s WIL-FM (New Country 92.3)/St. Louis in early May, are back behind the mic again, this time via a new syndication deal with Houston-based SuiteRadio, led by long-time industry creative dudes Cruze and Pat Fant. The CMA and ACM-winning Bud and Broadway Show will debut in mornings on SuiteRadio’s “The Brand” on Sept. 7.
“Now, managers can have the morning show they really want at a cost they can actually afford,” said Fant. “Our SuiteRadio Country Ambassador & First-Class Talent Wrangler Rowdy Yates was instrumental in helping bring this deal together.”
Cruze, President of SuiteRadio, said, “Finding great talent is always one of the biggest challenges in radio. Finding great talent during the reduced budgets brought about by our pandemic-fueled economic downturn can be even more difficult. These guys are, hands-down, the funniest and friendliest Country radio morning show I’ve ever heard, and they’re perfect for Country, Classic Country and even Classic Rock or Classic Hits. We are thrilled to be able to offer this show to anyone looking for a Morning Show solution!”
Bud Ford (left) and Jerry Broadway (right) landed in St. Louis in March 2016, coming from mornings on iHeartMedia Country KTGX (Twister 106.1)/Tulsa, OK. The guys previously plugged in at WTVY/Dothan, AL, WKDF/Nashville and WTNR/Grand Rapids, MI. Yates notes, “I’ve known Bud and Jerry for years. These two will fit the RFC Media/SuiteRadio culture perfectly and will be another great addition to The Brand, our 24/7 Country format. Bud and Broadway are without a doubt the funniest morning show in all of country radio — no Bones about it.”
