Dave & Chuck Slather On Sunscreen
• Definitively answering the musical question, “Hey, who’s going to replace Bubba The Love Sponge on WRXK (96k-rock)/Ft. Myers, FL?” Beasley put that issue firmly to rest with yesterday’s Southwest Florida debut of the Dave & Chuck the Freak Morning Show, based at WRIF/Detroit and also carried on Beasley Alternative WBOS (ALT 92.9)/Boston.
“We are pleased to have some of the finest personalities in the rock format within our company, and Dave & Chuck are among the best of the best,” said Justin Chase, EVP of Programming of Beasley Media Group. “The type of content that they deliver has proven success in this market and I have no doubt this show will be a winner in Fort Myers.”
Ft. Myer/Naples VP/Market Manager Brad Beasley remarked, “96k-rock has a history of having the best Rock radio morning shows in America. We continue the tradition by bringingDave and Chuck the Freakshow to Southwest Florida and are excited to share their unique brand of humor and entertainment on the station with our dedicated listeners.” Co-host Dave Hunter (left) added, “We are thrilled to be heading south to air on 96 k-rock. It’s exciting to have the folks in Fort Myers & Naples be able to join in on the Dave and Chuck the Freakparty we have every morning.”
Hunter and co-host Chuck Urquhart, along with castmate Lisa Way first worked together on CIMX (89X)/Windsor-Detroit from April 2001 until November 2012. The show debuted on WRIF in May of 2013. Since then, they’ve added co-host Andy Green, Producer James Campbell and Video Editor Jason Watson.
