Horton & Ramos & Benztown

Benztown, that internationally awesome repository of radio imaging, production libraries, programming, jingles and assorted voiceover services, comes screaming into frame in its tricked-out 1976 Ford Gran Torino to announce a key staff addition and a staff upgrade — Rick Dees‘ longtime personal producer Michael “Motion” Ramos has joined the Benztown team as in-house Audio Producer, and Kevin Horton, Imaging & Production Director for JACK Radio Network, Flashback and Adrenaline, has been upped to the newly created position of Director of Network Programming.

In addition to his work with Dees Entertainment, Ramos (right) is a creative DJ with deep audio production experience as a producer for a bunch of major market radio stations. Horton (left) began his radio career as an intern for the former KHHT (Hot 92 Jamz) and KYSR (Star 98.7)/Los Angeles while attending Long Beach State University. He was later upped to full-time production and programming assistant for Star 98.7 and a mixing engineer for the Clear Channel L.A. performance lounge. He later worked for Westwood One as the editor and mix engineer of the Billy Bush Show and imaging director on various specials.

Dave “Captain Dobey” Denes, President of Benztown, said, “Horton and Ramos are the new ‘Starsky and Hutch’ of the Benztown Long Form Radio Division! Their production skills are among the best in the industry and this partnership will improve and maximize our production output so we can offer even more and better service to our affiliates and partners.”
