Kane Exits ‘The Kane Show’ & Premiere

• Over the holiday weekend we were surprised to learn that longtime iHeartMedia and Premiere-syndicated personality Kane had been dropped as host of his eponymous The Kane Show, based at Top 40 WIHT (Hot 99-5)/Washington since 2006 and is also carried on WZFT (Z104.3)/Baltimore, WFLZ/Tampa and WNRW (98.9 Kiss FM)/Louisville.

In the wake ofKane’s departure, his existing morning co-hosts — Intern John, Riley Couture and Rose, along with Producer Erick, will continue on, under the rebranded title, Your Morning Show.

RAMP checked in with Jeff Kapugi, Regional SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s DC Region, who confirmed this news, telling us, “Starting Monday, although Kane will still be a part of the iHeart family, he will no longer appear on the Hot 99.5 morning show. We appreciate all he has contributed and built over the last 14 years. The morning show will continue on schedule with John, Riley and Rose.”

Kane’s weekend show, Club Kane, has also been discontinued by Premiere. In a statement to RAMP, a Premiere spokesperson said, “I can confirm that Premiere Networks has concluded syndication of The Kane Show, and the Sunday night program Club Kane will conclude on Sunday, May 3; Club Kane will be guest-hosted by [Hot 99-5 PD Rob] Kruz for the next four weeks, April 12 through May 3.”
