Payton’s Promise Fulfilled

• It was just over two weeks ago when we first reported the tragic news that 21-year-old Payton Cannon, the daughter of David “Ace” Cannon, half of the syndicated Ace & TJ Show, had been killed in a car accident in the early hours of Wednesday, July 29.

This Friday night, as a special tribute to Payton, her childhood friend, race car driver Max McLaughlin, will be driving the No. 1 “PaytonsPromise.org”-branded Toyota Camry, sponsored by Mohawk Northeast, in the inaugural ARCA Menards Series race on the road course at Daytona International Speedway. Max is a second-generation driver and races for Hattori Racing Enterprises. He won his first race on the Watkins Glen road course last season and hopes to do the same tonight at Daytona. You can catch the race live on MAVTV on Friday at 5pm ET!

Ace remarked, “We are very touched that Max has been granted permission to honor Payton in this way. Thank you to Max, everyone at Hattori Racing, Mohawk Northeast and Toyota for allowing this tribute.” TJ added, “The best part about this is Payton would absolutely love it!”

Payton’s Promise is a 501 (c) (3) charity set up to be ready to help when a community is in the need for immediate help from tragic events such as natural disaster, community tragedy or when local support efforts need a little more assistance to get to their goals.
