• The Bud and the Manchild Radio Show is heading back to its former radio home on Cumulus Sports-Talk WSKO (The Score 1260)/Syracuse, NY, effective Tuesday, May 30. The independently owned sports-talk radio show has aired from 10am-noon on Galaxy Communications rival WTLA (ESPN 97.7/1200) for the last 18 months. Jim “The Manchild” Lerch, a veteran Central New York TV and radio personality and Bud Poliquin, the now-retired sports columnist of Syracuse.com and the Post Standard newspaper started the show back in 2002, making it the longest running sports talk show in Syracuse.
Lerch commented, “A change was needed to get the show back on track in terms of our core values. Cumulus Media and the Score 1260 were great partners in the past and we are very excited to join forces with them again. It was very tough leaving The Score 1260 in 2015, and we consider that decision a mistake. We are thrilled to be working with Cumulus Media once again.” Beth Coughlin, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Syracuse added, “We are pleased that Bud and the Manchild are coming back home to The Score 1260.”
• Heard across a growing platform of 60 leading Country radio stations, The Country Club With Dee Jay Silver returns to Compass Media Networks effective May 15, 2017. Host Dee Jay Silver said, “I’m thrilled to rejoin Compass Media Networks. This is where it all began for me a few years ago and I look forward to a long-term partnership.”
The show’s top affiliates include WMZQ/Washington, KCYE/Las Vegas, WQNU/Louisville and WSOC/Charlotte, to name a few.
