Sports Junkies Not Going Anywhere

• The Sports Junkies announced they’ve all signed a sweet new long-term contract extension to keep them in mornings on Entercom Sports-Talk WJFK-FM (106.7 The Fan)/Washington for the foreseeable future. From left to right: John Auville, Jason Bishop, Eric Bickel and John-Paul Flaim will still gladly accompany you on your drive to work, weekdays from 5-10am ET.

In making the announcement, Phil Zachary, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom DC said, “Since 1996, The Sports Junkies have driven the sports conversation in Washington D.C., and we couldn’t envision The Fan without them. As the unrivaled leaders in local sports coverage, we are pleased to continue our relationship with the team.”

Flaim said, “It’s an honor and a privilege to talk sports with our friends every morning. We’re so thankful to those that have supported us all of these years. After 23 years, we feel like we’re just hitting our stride.” Flaim then handed the mic to Bickel, who remarked, “We’re excited to continue waking up Washington on 106.7 The Fan for many years to come.”

Plans will be announced later this month for the show to be syndicated to affiliates across the Mid-Atlantic region. And why not — we are told that The Sports Junkies is consistently rated No. 1 with 18-49 men in Washington, according to Nielsen 2018 ratings.
