Ty Bentli Signs Off From Radio
• Westwood One-syndicated personality Ty Bentli surprised more than a few folks on Friday morning when he announced that he had just hosted his final Ty Bentli Show and was leaving radio for a new venture TBA.
In a statement to RAMP, a Cumulus company spokesperson said, “Ty Bentli, host of Westwood One’s nationally syndicated Country radio program, The Ty Bentli Show, will be leaving radio to pursue another opportunity in a different field. Co-hosts Chuck Wicks and Tricia “TJ” Jenkins will take the hosting reins from Ty today, which is his last day on the show. We will continue to provide Country music fans with the ultimate in morning entertainment from the Music City. We wish Ty all the best in his new endeavor.” Bentli is expected to announce his new venture soon.
Bentli’s lengthy resume includes mornings on CBS Radio Top 40 WNOW (92.3 NOW)/New York and Cumulus Hot AC WRQX/Washington DC. Earlier in his career Bentli did afternoons on KBIG/Los Angeles and WKSC (103.5 Kiss FM)/Chicago and mornings at the former KDHT (Hot 93.3)/Austin.
In Sept. 2016 Bentli was tapped to succeed Blair Garner as the anchor of what was then called America’s Morning Show with Country artist Chuck Wicks and Kelly Ford. Ford left the show in Oct. 2018 and returned to WNSH/New York; two months later the show was relaunched as The Ty Bentli Show, adding Tricia “TJ” Jenkins, a veteran of Entercom Country KMNB/Minneapolis. Stay tuned for further details.
