CW Postpones iHeart Fest Broadcast

The CW has postponed its planned two-night broadcast of the iHeartRadio Music Festival following Sunday’s deadly Las Vegas shootings that have left at least 59 dead and more than 520 injured. The network had taped the festival at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, Sept. 22 and Saturday, Sept. 23 and was scheduled to broadcast the concert as a two-night event tonight and tomorrow. The network will instead substitute repeats from 8-10pm on both nights.

The Daytime Village portion of the annual iHeartRadio event, which was not part of the TV broadcast, was held Saturday, Sept. 23 at the 15-acre Las Vegas Village venue, the site of this weekend’s Route 91 Harvest country music festival.

A joint statement from The CW and iHeartMedia said, “Out of respect to the victims of last Sunday’s terrible tragedy in Las Vegas and their families, The CW Network and iHeartMedia will be postponing this week’s TV broadcast of the iHeartRadio Music Festival. New broadcast dates will be announced at a later time.”
